The Voice2Net Telecom 2009 Queensland Tasar State Titles were characterised by some incredibly close racing, with some boats finishing mere seconds apart.

Overall winners Warwick and Greg Heath were tied on 9 points with Duncan and Peter Macgregor after scores were adjusted by dropping each crew’s worst race. In the end, the Heaths won on count back with a 1st place in two races. Before the drop however, the Macgregors were in the lead with 12 points to the Heath’s 14 - Close racing indeed!

“Best Dacron Sail” was also a closely contested award with Ross and Jane McMulllen of Whitsunday sailing Club and Heather Sutton and Bruce Rankine of Cairns ending on 37 points each. Heather and Bruce took the prize on the count back
